What can you expect from your experience at our clinic?

At your first appointment, please arrive 10-20 minutes early to fill out the health history paperwork, or you can download it from the bottom of this page to print and bring with you. Once your health history has been reviewed, the acupuncturist will assess your condition, which may include asking you questions and feeling your pulses, all of which are traditional Chinese medicine tools to determine your treatment plan.

We treat patients in comfortable reclining chairs. No disrobing is necessary. Please wear comfortable, loose clothing that can be rolled up above your elbows and knees, so we can access points on your arms and legs. The points on the extremities are the most powerful points in the body and we can use them to treat any condition.

Acupuncture needles are about the width of a human hair and most patients feel little or no pain. Acupuncture is often described by patients as a profoundly relaxing experience. After the needles are placed, patients rest comfortably in the group healing rooms.  Please visit our frequently asked questions page for more information.

Before your treatment, please keep the following in mind:

  • Eat something before your treatment.  It is best not to have acupuncture on an empty stomach, especially if the idea of needles makes you nervous.

  • Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing, so we can access your lower legs and arms.

  • Please refrain from wearing scents.  Some people are sensitive to smells, and scents can trigger allergies, asthma, and migraines.

  • You will be at the clinic for at least 1 hour for your first visit and follow up visits are at least 30-45 minutes.

  • Most people will need a course of treatment to get the best results.  For general guidelines, please visit our frequently asked questions page.

Masks are required
